Rear Window Part 1

Impressive. After some research, I found that it was made in 1954 and it honestly doesn't look like it. I have seen worse from younger movies, quality-wise. Except for that helicopter that they tried to put in, it didn't look real at all.

We watched a good part of the movie Rear Window today in class because we will start talking about film stories and everything that comes with it. The movie is about a photographer that got injured while doing his work. He is sitting in his wheelchair looking through the back window of his apartment. He kind of spies on people in their backyards. The one apartment seems very suspicious to him and multiple things make him think that the husband killed his wife.

Without having seen the end I think that the husband actually killed his wife and tried to hide it by not changing anything in his apartment. He is keeping the blinds open and isn't stressed. I think the photographer will be right and be very happy to prove to his friend the detective. I think the husband killed his wife but didn't put her in the box that he shipped somewhere like the main character thinks. One night, the husband walked in and out of the apartment three times in the middle of the night with his suitcase. I think the husband used his saw to cut her up and put her in that suitcase. He was going to get rid of the body parts that night and cleaned up everything before opening the blinds up again.

Maybe I watch too many murderers documentaries on Netflix but it sounds like it could make sense, a little bit.

I think the movie is a very simple one but a very hard one to make. The plot is very simple, one guy stays at his window spying on people. I don't know much about making movies but just thinking about it, it is definitely hard to make a movie captivating when it stays at the same location for one hour and a half and when the characters never change, or almost. When you watch the movie it seems like nothing really happens. it just seems like a normal day for an injured person but when you actually think about it, it's actually very interesting to see everything that happens. I think the directors also did a very good job putting some interest in every neighbor the photographer has. Every single one of them has something suspicious going on and could be a part of a crime.

I would recommend this movie for a night when you are tired and don't want to try to solve a gigantic puzzle. It's very easy to follow and will give you a good laugh before going to bed.
